Hey all you cats and kittens! This is Pearl with the Pearl Report. I'll be sharing with you many insights into feline life, as well as tips and tricks. So stay tuned!
Today's topic - Finding a home!
Some lucky felines are born into good homes. More power to them and hallelujah. But what about the not so lucky of us. Well, I was one of those. I was left on the doorstep of the animal shelter when I was barely more than 7 weeks old. It was frightening, but I quickly made friends. This is important for felines in shelters. Caregivers are more likely to spread the word that you need a home if you are friendly.
Next comes the problem of interviewing potential Mommies and Daddies. Here are my tips.
1. Always choose a Mommy or Daddy that smells good and plays with you.
2. Avoid the clinging and too cuddly Mommy or Daddy. They will be hard to teach boundaries to.
3. Remember, it is YOUR choice, no one else's.
4. Go with your gut. Felines are excellent at judging character.
5. Once you have made your choice, make it clearly and loudly known. Be extra cute! Most potential Mommies and Daddies are fairly intelligent and will respond to cuteness favorably. If you can, make them think it was their decision.
6. Once your new Mommy or Daddy takes you home, the real work will begin. So save up some energy for what's to come.
Don't forget cats and kittens, finding a home may take some time, but it is worth it. Stay on those potential Mommies and Daddies until you find the perfect one.
Keep scratching, until next time.
